Working and communicating successfully with Indian business partners

India as an economic power is becoming an increasingly important partner for Germany as a result of globalization. The world’s largest democracy with its economic growth of over 7% in 2015 offers an ideal sales market, as well as a highly attractive outsourcing destination for corporate processes and production: In 2014, India was the world’s most attractive outsourcing destination.

Yet any cross-cultural encounter between Germans (or indeed persons from most Western cultures) and Indians, whether in business or private contexts, carries its potential for misunderstandings and conflicts: Many a project or Joint Venture – but also many a private relationship – has failed due to ineffective and unsuccessful intercultural communication.

A thorough preparation for collaborating effectively with people from the multi-faceted Indian culture can help to prevent such failures, and thereby promote successful business and personal relations.
